Autumn is in the air. It’s not as noticeable during the day, but air temperatures at night are getting colder and the locusts are louder.

very July I travel to Orlando, Florida to attend the ICAST show. ICAST is the fishing trade show where fishing gear manufacturers introduce much of their new product for the coming year. Some of the new product is available now, while much of it hits retail shelves this fall and during the early part of the new year.

When you go fishing, if you want to catch a fish, it’s really important that you put your bait where a fish lives. That might sound very basic, but the most basic concept of fishing is to fish where the fish are.

Swimbaits have been multi-species fish producers for many years now.  As these baits have evolved, different sized baits with different actions, colors, and more have appeared to target various fish species.

At Fishing the Midwest television, we are privileged to travel to some of the Midwest’s top fishing locations.  Here is a look at some of the destinations we’ve been to recently, fisheries other anglers might want to add to their fishing bucket lists.

I live near Alexandria, MN which is famous for its good bass fishing.  The area features deep lakes, shallow lakes, and lots of largemouth bass!  With this diversity in waters, the area offers everything a bass angler could want in terms of fishing patterns and techniques.

As a fishing TV show host I am fortunate to travel across the Midwest sampling some of the region’s best fishing destinations.  Earlier this summer, we filmed Fishing the Midwest TV episodes in places that I would consider fishing paradises! Here is a look at those trips.
